A ~~ I have no complaints. The chairs looked nice. The people were great to work with, even when I changed my mind a few times as to what I needed and didn't need. I also got linens and other items needed for the reception (mirrors for centerpieces, guest book stand)

A- ~~ We also rented some things from AC. A stage for the band, risers for the head table, and some coat racks. They looked great, but they get you on the extra cost for the skirting for the plattforms.

Custom Gobo

We rented a light, stand, and had a gobo made with our monogram. We worked primarily with Mike. Everyone was so helpful and really went out of their way to make sure we got exactly what we wanted. We went into the shop to see samples when we weren't sure about the look with the distance to the dance floor. They answered all of our questions without hesitation. The price was so much less than I expected too! Highly recommend.

Custom Gobo

A+ ~~ I knew from the beginning I wanted one of these, but after an exhaustive search, it just seemed too difficult and expensive ($300 and up) of a detail. Then one day I’m surfing the kn** and KC kn***ie bnlmel gave a review for A to Z Theatrical. I e-mailed them five minutes later and had all the details nailed down over e-mail. I worked with Mike, sent him my monogram and the rest was done for me. The GOBO itself cost about $70. Then I went to go pick it up the day before the wedding as well as pick up the light fixture you have to rent to project it. The light rental was about $60. They showed me how to do everything but I pretty much gave the GOBO project over to my wedding planner and she handled everything from there. The guests loved this detail and we got a lot of compliments on it. Plus, it is nice to use someone local. Shout out to bnlmel for the recommendation.

Projector Rental

A+ ~~ I searched forever on the Internet because I needed a projector for the slideshow, but didn’t want to pay an arm and a leg. John Juarez was the cheapest I found anywhere. I got a standard projector that worked great and cost $100 for a 24-hour rental. I just checked his website though and it looks like he’s bumped it up to $125, which if you’re looking to rent one, you know is still pretty cheap. Even though it’s a 24-hour rental, he let us return it on Monday after a Saturday wedding. Nice guy.

So far, A ~~ I haven't received our video yet, but I should be getting it next week. Good price for 5 hours -- I paid $750. I booked him last minute and he showed up early to set up, etc and stayed at the reception til 10. I can't wait to see the video!

A ~~ The sashes looked great and were very reasonably priced. They had lots of color and fabric options.

A ~~ Before I got engaged I didn't even think about chair covers or realize how much more elegant they make a place look. When I was looking at wedding pictures trying to get my "look" I decided that I had to have them. I struggled between Be Seated and another company, Be Seated was $1.00 more a chair but their covers were very nice. In the end, with the travel fee the other company wanted to charge, Be Seated was just .50 cents more a chair cover so I went with them. The week of the wedding we had a chair fiasco and had to change the chair covers but Be Seated accommodated us without any hassle. I highly recommend Be Seated.

A+ ~~ They showed up when scheduled, put them out. Came back at midnight and took them down. Simple as that. They made a nice touch!

A+ ~~ I loved the chair covers! They finished the room off and were good quality, not at all what I was expecting for the price. I really thought we were going to have some cheap polyester fabric and we got the opposite of that. Lunetta was our contact and she was very nice. I spoke to her on the phone and by email and she was always very prompt in returning my calls. The covers were the cheapest I found- $2.50 for cover and tulle sash, although they have different options for sash fabrics and colors. Highly recommend!

The chairs at the Holiday Inn were a hideous maroon color, so we decided to go with chair covers. Beyondelegance were the cheapest covers I could find and the best part was that they shipped them to the hotel and they took care of setting them up, taking them down, and shipping them back. The quality was good and they were comfy to sit on. This is one expense I'm SO glad we fit in. It definitely completed the room Easy as pie for me

Sound Equipment and Cake Stand

B ~~ The cake stand was very nice and the sound equipment worked well...except they didn't give us all the cords we needed so on the wedding day someone had to run home and get cords.
From: MrsKCBride06
A+ ~~ They were so great to work with – Missy actually worked with them, not us.. but they were flexible since it was a holiday weekend and they came with all the chairs and linens and did a great job setting up!
From: rose4jc2
Soundsystem Rental

A- ~~ I was really nervous about this since I know nothing about soundsystems. We got a cd player, mixing board, speakers, and a wireless mic for about $200. They sent directions for how to set it up that dh said were fairly accurate, though they ran into a couple of glitches in the set up. They figured it out and it worked great all night! No real complaints.

Some Chairs

A- ~~ The chairs they brought were in good condition and looked nice with the chair covers my mom made for them. We only ordered enough chairs to do the front 6 tables (these were for our parents, grandparents, close aunts/uncles/cousins and they had the chair covers. We used the locations chairs for everyone else), so it was only 60 that we had to rent. The people there were nice. The only negative (not a big deal though) was they were 10 mins or so picking up the chairs that night. That was only an issue because the Pavilion owner wouldn’t let my mom leave until they got there. Otherwise, no complaints.
From: StephanieandStefan
B ~~ They were so easy to work with. They even ordered specialty linens for us. They did, however, forget to put our cake platter on the delivery truck. Had the Longview coordinator caught that detail the night before, maybe they would've dropped the platter off Saturday morning. But alas, we'll never know.

Kim is so great to deal with and these are the most beautiful chair covers! So nice...they are very classy and elegant and fit completely over your chair. They also put them on and take them off for you. You can reach her at 816-916-1193 or email at cover-cover [AT] hotmail [DOT] com

A+ ~~ Also a vendor I loved. Laura was amazingly easy to work with and I can't say enough nice things about her. She worked hard and finally found a caramel fountain that I had asked about doing, even after I told her we'd just do two chocolate fountains. That meant a lot to me. (FI, I mean DH, loves caramel so that's why I wanted to surprise him with that. He loved it) It was wrapping up early so I told her she could leave early if she wanted to and she declined and stayed to the bitter end. Then she gave me all the leftover fruit and chocolate. Yummy. I would very highly recommend her.
From: mrs.goddess
People raved about the chocolate fountain all night long! They were very prompt and got it set up in a breeze. The attendant was very nice and set up everything perfectly. Not too messy, and if someone made a mess on their clothes, I had some tide pens handy, and all was good! I was so glad that I booked them!

A ~~ Our attendant was great and the chocolate tasted wonderful. Kristi was so nice to work with. We ordered enough food though for the whole wedding and it only lasted about 50 minutes. Overall, I’m SO glad that we got a fountain, I would just recommend more food ordered than you think you need!

B ~~ Rented candleabras and self-standing hurricanes, plus wheelchair. Showed up with wrong colored (brass instead of silver) items, but I didn't really care, so all was good. IL family screwed up and left wheelchair next door at Radisson, which they went over and got without complaining. Also, we paid for one day of rental for Friday to Tuesday (TCOB not open on Sun-Mon) so big props there. Great selection if nothing else, delivery prices market average.

A- ~~ I rented two candelabras from Hobby Lobby for the ceremony. I paid the deposit and the 1-day rental fee a couple of months in advance. When my mom went to pick them up the day before the wedding, they had lost their copy of the receipt showing that I had paid the rental fee and told her that they would keep the deposit when we brought the candelabras back unless we could produce the receipt. I had kept my receipts, so that was okay although a bit of a hassle. Then, when my dad went to light the mechanical candles that had come with them, 15 minutes before the start of the ceremony, 8 of the 10 wouldn't light. I'm still giving them an A- though, since when my uncle took the candelabras back and told them the candles hadn't worked, they immediately offered him a full refund.

Great addition to the reception especially since the hall doesn’t have a bar. These machines are very easy to use, they deliver, pick up, and clean up the machines for you. Dan is the owner and he is great to work with and is a very nice guy! We got the strawberry and lemonade mixes and they were both very good!

A ~~ They set up early and quickly. Tony can be a bit difficult to reach, but he is super nice. Their prices were the best in KC for what I was looking for.

Dinnerware Rental ~~ Cost: .50 per item for plates and glassware, .35 per item for silverware.

B ~~ We worked with Megan and she was extremely helpful however the delivery drivers were 5 hours late to drop off our rentals and then the dripless candles that I ordered for the candleabras weren't delivered. Unfortunately no one answers the phone there on Sunday so we had to make other candles work and it looked fine but it was still annoying. Also, their prices are a lot higher than other rental companies but Megan did price match to the best of her ability. Update, it took almost 2 months to get our deposit back b/c our account wasn't "closed" due to some missing plates and they orginally told me I was going to have to forfeit my deposit and pay them for the missing dishes but my mom called them and they recounted everything they said and gave me back the deposit.

Cake Plateau - A+ ~~This is a division of Alianza Celebrations. I worked with the owner Alycia and she was so kind. We rented a beautiful 24” silver cake plateau and there were no problems. She has some of the classiest rentals in the city. I think it was $60 but for $10 more they’ll deliver.
From: Rockstar79
B ~~ I rented a cake plateau, table number holders and a card birdcage from Alycia. Alycia was really nice and I liked her. She even came to my house and dropped off my items the Thursday before. However, the birdcage was MUCH smaller than it looked on her website. We didn't end up using it. That was my only turnoff about them. Otherwise a good experience.
From: ToddysGirl
A+ ~~ Alycia Nichols runs this company and is the nicest, kindest woman! She was extremely helpful in choosing our rentals and she has a beautiful selection of items. On the day of the wedding she delivered the items, set them up and then came and found me in the church so I could approve what she did. She then came back after the ceremony and took the things over to the reception and set them up there. She seemed genuinely excited for my husband and I. I highly recommend Something Borrowed!!!!

Sunflower Rentals

used by rose4jc2

From: rose4jc2
A- ~~ We got tablecloths, water pitchers, and a coffee perkolator from Sunflower and were very happy with everything. The minus is because the coffee maker takes a long time to brew coffee so when we ran out of the first 55 cups we didn’t really have the luxury of another hour to brew the second batch. If I had known how long it would take beforehand I would have rented two.
